Again... Why I like It Here

Freedom of speech is a good thing. There are people in this country who think our right to say what we want is being threatened. But let's put it in perspective. Denmark is one of the most liberal countries in the world. But their freedom of speech is being put to the test right now. Because of a few cartoons. "Twelve cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed, published in Jyllands-Posten last September and reprinted in a Norwegian magazine earlier this month, have sparked an uproar in the Muslim world since images of the prophet are considered blasphemous." Cartoons like this one. So now the cartoonists have gone into hiding after death threats, Denmark is being squeezed by a boycott that threatens to hurt their economy, Danish flags are being burned, and masked gunmen have taken over the European Union offices in the Gaza Strip... All because of cartoons! I expect they'll be coming after me next.
