Jill Carroll, a freelance reporter for the Christian Science Monitor, was recently released after months of captivity in Iraq. Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post points out that there are questions about Carroll's captivity. "Carroll seemed bent on giving her captors a positive review, going on about how well they treated her, how they gave her food and let her go to the bathroom. And they never threatened to hit her. Of course, as we all saw in those chilling videos, they did threaten to kill her. And they shot her Iraqi translator to death." While I am willing to cut her some slack for now, I'm sticking to my earlier conspiracy theory about the curious catch and release tactics of these alleged kidnappers. Could she be 'one of them'? But imagine just for a moment... that our soldiers released a prisoner from that 'hell hole' they run down at GITMO.
