Governor Gregoire's Beaver Shot

House Bill 2381, The Beaver Relocation Bill was the project of freshman Rep. Joel Kretz, R-Wauconda. It passed the House and Senate, but Washington state Governor Christine Gregoire shot it down with a stroke of her pen. "Currently, they live-trap them and knock them in the head and toss them in a ditch somewhere," Kretz said Wednesday. "And I thought, there's a better way of dealing with the resource.
